S B Deorah College is committed to provide a safe, trustworthy and harmonious work place to all its students. The college has an effective mechanism in place to deal with day-to-day grievances related to students and accordingly GRC committee has been constituted.
Grievance Mechanism
A. Academic and Curricular Issues
i. Matters pertaining to Admission
ii. Matters pertaining to Teaching learning
iii. Matters pertaining to internal assessment
B. Non-Academic Issues
i. Matters pertaining to general discipline
ii. Matters pertaining to discrimination
iii. Matters pertaining to infrastructure
iv. Matters pertaining to sexual harassment
C. Grievance related to hostel
i. Matters pertaining to girls Hostels
Objective:
The purpose of this policy is to set forth the policies and procedures to be followed in receiving, handling and responding to any grievance. The following policies have been adopted by the college.
i. To ensure a fair, impartial mechanism for addressing the complaints / grievance of the students.
ii. To uphold the dignity of the college by promoting cordial student-student, teacher-student relationship.
iii. To ensure that the grievance are resolved promptly and in complete confidentiality.
How To Raise a Grievance
i. Any student may convey his/her grievance to the Convenor or any other member of the GRC, every Saturday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm
ii. Online Grievances Mechanism is also available where the students can also directly convey his / her grievance through the mail id of the grievance redressal cell.
iii. The complaint should include sufficient detail of the grievance.
iv. Grievance Box: A Grievance Box is also placed in the college where the students can drop their grievances in a written from.
Redressal of the Grievances:
The GRC fixes a date for hearing the complaint of the concerned student. An aggrieved student should appears in person before the committee.
Steps for redressal of grievance:
Step 1: To raise the issue formally with the convenor or any member of the GRC
Step 2: A grievance investigation takes place
step 3: A grievance hearing takes place to review the evidence for a decision to be made.
