The Women's Cell of SB Deorah College is a mandated body as per Section 3.2(15)of UGC guidelines.The avowed mission of the Cell is to create a gender friendly campus with exclusive focus on the safety and security of the girl students .To ensure a safe, inclusive and supportive academic environment, the Cell engages in various activities to promote gender sensitivity.
With its zero tolerance policy towards gender injustice and discrimination,the Cell makes sure that the girl students enjoy equal access to rights and opportunities for the optimum realisation of their true potential.Its continuous and sustained efforts towards raising awareness about gender issues from health, literacy, personal grooming, self defence, economic self reliance extend beyond the confines of the campus to the community,neighbourhood and remote areas.
Vision
The Women's Cell envisions the creation of a space built on the strong foundations of gender equality and justice. It envisages an academic environment free from gendered prejudices and stereotypes.Steered by the vision of a dynamic and vibrant platform where the voices of girl students are heard and their opinions matter,the Cell endeavours to create an inclusive and enabling environment where the girl students can thrive and prosper.
Mission
To achieve these outcomes and goals, the Women's Cell is committed to undertake sustained and continuous efforts. Through awareness generation programmes on gender issues, imparting skill training for economic self reliance, questioning gendered thought patterns,encouraging debates, dialogue and discussion, the Cell is engaged in its relentless pursuit of empowering women.

Objectives
Offerring counselling and support services to students and faculty who have faced discrimination.
To provide opportunities to the girl students to showcase and promote their latent skills and abilities
To create awareness about the legal provisions available to safeguard their interests.
To help them acquire skills to become financially independent.
To embolden them to question and break existing stereotypes.
To enhance self esteem and self confidence of the girl students and staff.
To initiate dialogue and promote awareness on gender specific issued
To develop rational and cognitive skills in students so as to help them make informed choices.
