The Environment Cell is a dedicated initiative within our college aimed at promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and action among our students, faculty, and staff. As we navigate an era of unprecedented environmental challenges, it becomes increasingly imperative for educational institutions like ours to take a proactive stance in addressing these pressing issues.
The Environment Cell of the college aims to sensitize, create awareness, and educate students about the preservation and conservation of the
environment. The cell organizes various activities to create awareness about the importance of protecting nature and the environment. The cell motivates the students to keep their surroundings clean and green and to maintain natural resources. The Environment Cell actively investigates all matters related to nature, and the function of its members is to sensitize, create awareness, motivate, and educate the students about environmental conservation.

30	World Photography Day,2023	The "Environment Cell" of S. B. Deorah College, Guwahati in collaboration with EcoClub organized "World Photography Day " for the students and teachers of S. B. Deorah College on 19th August 2023. The theme of this year was 'Landscapes'. Accordingly, the theme selected by our college was 'Monsoon'.The major activities organized by the cell this year was Photography Competition Cum Exhibition, which was open for both students and faculty members of the college. 74	International Day for Biological Diversity,2024	On the occasion of International Day for Biological Diversity 22nd May,2024, the "Environment Cell" of S. B. Deorah College, Guwahati in collaboration with Department of Botany, S.B.Deorah College organized a program where implementation of QR Code system for plant identification in the college campus was introduced. The theme for International Day for Biological Diversity for this year was Be Part Of The Plan. 97	Annual Special Lecture Series I	The Environment Cell and IQAC organised an Annual Special Lecture Series. The topic for the lecture was 'Environmental Pollution - Its persistent and emerging dynamics'. The resource person invited for the session was Prof. V.Madha Suresh, who is an eminent ICSSR Senior Research Fellow. He explained about the topic giving everyone a clear idea about the various aspects of environmental pollution. 118	World Photography Day,2024	The “Environment Cell” of S. B. Deorah College, Guwahati in collaboration with EcoClub S.B.Deorah College organized “World Photography Day ”on 19th August 2024. The theme of this year was ‘An Entire Day’. It is an ongoing project which invites the people to capture the many diverse aspects of life around the world within a single day. Accordingly, the theme selected by our college was ‘Nature’.
