All the members of the Faculty of English are sincere, hardworking and dedicated, who consciously keep in mind their mission to inspire, guide and help the students to not only become graduates but also to groom them as responsible citizens and worthwhile individuals. The Faculty members keep themselves abreast with the latest teaching methods and research methodology. The attend lectures, seminars, webinars, workshops, conferences and U.G. C. sponsored courses to attain awareness and knowledge about new theories and ideas in their own discipline as well as other related disciplines.

All the Faculty members maintain  a good cordial relationship with the students in other to encourage easy accessibility. Most of the students enrolled in the college are from economically challenged backgrounds and  from vernacular schools with a shaky foundation in English. Keeping this in mind, the Faculty members  take special care of the students to remove their inhibitions and counsel them on their various problems, either academic or non- academic. Students from the neighbouring North Eastern states enroll themselves in English Major course. This diversity provides a healthy interaction between different communities and help in fostering fellow feeling and brotherhood.

The Department of English provides a holistic development of the students and does not simply focus on classroom lectures, course coverage or examinations. In the beginning of the session the HoD holds a meeting to chalk out a programme related to the academic and the extra- curricular, in other to widen the range and depth of knowledge of the students and to enhance their personalities. ICT classes, Interactive classes, Remedial classes as well as classes in Research Methodology form an integral part of the teaching- learning process of the Department. Activities like writing skills, interactions with eminent personalities, field trips, film shows, seminars, workshops, quiz, recitations, essay and story writing competitions are periodically held.  Programmes like Departmenal Freashers’ Socials and Farewell Functions are encouraged to enhance  the  organizing skills of the students.

The Department carries out Mentoring and Counselling sessions which are held weekly,  in order to help the students with their academic and non-academic problems.
