Department of Chemistry

History

The department of Chemistry was established on 6th August 2018 with a student intake of 10 (Honors) and 55 (Regular) students. Dr. Prabha Devi was the first faculty of the department and provided her service from August  2018 to February 2019. She was joined by Bhagyasmeeta Sarma from March 2019. Then Dr. Jutika Devi joined the department in September 2019. Initially the department was operated as a self financing programme. It was provincialised in the year 2020, creating three permanent posts of faculty members. Accordingly Dr. Sagar Sharma, Dr Jayanta Kumar Nath and Dr. Mamon Dey joined the department on 21st December 2020.
